Alec Baldwin to Present at Tony Awards

Alec Baldwin will be a presenter at this year’s Tony Awards on June 12. The show is hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will be broadcast live on CBS at 8/7 c.
Among the other presenters are Daniel Radcliffe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Vanessa Redgrave, Christie Brinkley, Matthew Broderick, Angela Lansbury and Jim Parsons
Alec Baldwin Donates $250,000 To Guild Hall

Alec Baldwin has donated $250,000 to Guild Hall in East Hampton. The generosity is a result of the actor’s ad campaign with Capital One Bank, which touted the bank’s Venture Rewards card while promoting many of New York’s art institutions.
“My partnership with Capital One serves as a platform to generate awareness about the need for arts funding,” Mr. Baldwin said in a press release. “Government funding has been significantly reduced, and I think that is bad for arts education and America’s cultural heritage. Guild Hall serves the community throughout the year by providing inspiring performances, films, readings and exhibitions, along with arts education in schools and other activities that are needed.”
“With the recent cut in government funding, we are depending more and more on private and corporate giving to achieve our goals,” Ms. Appelhof said in the release. “We very much appreciate Alec’s support, which will go toward paying off the final $2 million left in our Capital Campaign following our recent renovation.”
Mr. Baldwin has donated all of the proceeds from the Capital One commercial. In addition to Guild Hall, donations were also given to the New York Philharmonic, the Roundabout Theater and the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Alec Baldwin is set to play Mark Wahlberg’s father in a new comedy written by “30 Rock” author Robert Carlock and Scott Silveri. “Turkey Bowl” will re-team “The Other Guys” stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as guys from football-obsessed towns who lead rival teams in an annual tackle football game for bragging and trash-talking rights, Deadline reports.
A production date hasn’t been set.

In an interview with AP, Alec and John, who became friends while making 2009’s “It’s Complicated,” talk about doing the commercials and their friendship: “We thought it would be really fun because we are such big fans of both teams,” says John Krasinski who calls Baldwin “one of the truer friends you can ask for in this business.” “He’s definitely the epitome of someone who grew up in New York. And I think I’m somewhat of the epitome of someone who grew up in Boston.”
“There’s no one I could have done this with other than John,” says Baldwin. “I just love John. He encapsulates the Red Sox fan, people who are into super-religious symbolism, people who do a lot of praying. Red Sox fans are people that have to do a lot of talking to God.”
The ads are being featured on broadcasts of Red Sox-Yankee games and will continue throughout the season. A new one will debut during Friday’s game between the teams.
